Makeup Tips You Can Use In Minutes

By Janey Dike on July 17, 2014

When our alarm goes off in the morning, we usually have two options: hit the snooze button and get ten more minutes of sleep, or actually get out of bed and start getting ready for the day.

For those of us that always seem to choose that wonderful snooze button, it can be hectic trying to get ready in time and still look presentable. Luckily, there are many easy makeup tips that you can use in a pinch.

After throwing on an outfit, just apply a few of these hacks before stepping out the door. No one will be able to tell that you managed to get ready in only minutes.

Moisturizer: Keeping your skin moisturized contributes to keeping it looking naturally fresh and healthy. Daily use of a moisturizer designed specifically for the more sensitive skin on your face creates a smoother look and less of a need for face makeup. This will cut out a few minutes in your daily routine.

Because it will contribute to the overall health of your skin, you don’t have to worry about it wearing off or getting smudged as you do with makeup. Many foundation products also include moisturizing properties, so it’s easy to combine this beauty routine into your makeup routine. Consider looking for a moisturizer with SPF15 or higher to protect your skin all day long.

White or Flesh-Toned Eyeliner: Looking for a way to get rid of the sleepy or irritated redness around your eyes? Or perhaps you want a way to make your eyes pop?

Using flesh-toned or white eyeliner can do just that. Use flesh-toned liner as a quick fix to red eyes and a fresh look. White liner will brighten your eyes and have a simple, elegant effect. After applying the liners, you can either decide that’s the end of your eye makeup routine, or continue to add the desired eyeshadow and mascara of your choice.

Powder Foundation: Brushing on some powder foundation can help cover up any redness or puffiness on your skin. It can also contribute to covering up any blemishes. If you have oily skin or have a lot of shine, especially in your T-zone, using powder foundation can help the skin look more even and diminish shine.

Use Concealer on Eyelids: Using a creamy concealer or foundation on your eyelids works well as a base for eyeshadow. It allows for clean, easy application of color to eyelids. It will also help the color stay intact for the rest of the day, saving your time on reapplication. The foundation will eliminate redness and create an overall smooth appearance.

Tinted Lip Balm or Gloss: If your lips have a tint of color, no one will believe that it only took you a few minutes to work on your appearance. Wearing some lip color adds glam to your appearance and will help you feel ready to conquer the world in no time at all.

Try using a tinted lip balm or a quick swipe of gloss. The look won’t look too dressy for daily use. The tinted lip balm can easily be applied throughout the day to add moisturizer, shine and color.

Eyelash Curler: Adding several layers of mascara can add quite a bit of time to your usual beauty routine. Making sure both eyes are even and untangling the clumps can be tedious. Fortunately, using an eyelash curler can actually cut back on time.

If you have dark eyelashes, you may not have to use any mascara if you use a curler. The eyelash curlers make eyes seem bigger and brighter and frame the color. If your lashes are lighter, you can simply use one layer of mascara on your freshly curled lashes for the desired effect.

Bronzer: People often feel less of a need to add more color to their face in the form of eyeshadows or blushes when their skin is tanner. Adding the appropriate tint of bronzer to your complexion in any season can give you a quick, healthy glow. It can also be used for contouring. Try applying the bronzer under the cheek bones and on the center and sides of your forehead near your hairline.
